I find that a weekly restart of the VPS on the weekend helps to clean out the accumulated junk from an active MT4 and helps to keep memory usage within bounds. Best to close the MT4 first, then restart (do NOT log off), and reopen MT4.

Forgot to mention that if you do a close and re-open of the MT4, always check that none of the EAs have been bumped off in the process. Just finished checking mine and one of the five MT4s running on the VPS had six of the 20 EAs bumped off. Seems to happen more when you have many charts/EAs running on the one MT4.

Very good point - I save my charts under a named 'profile'  - quick to reinstate of everything suddenly disappears:)

I am a happy CNS client since years.

+ If there is a technical problem, they fix it usually very fast.
+ Support is quick and competent.
+No up time problems ever.
+ Autoboot for terminals increases platform security (If a terminal goes down, my software will let me know about and Autoboot from CNS will restart the terminal automatically.
+ Two factor authentication.

They charge more than low cost providers but personally I think it is well wort it.

I'm not sure what you mean by colocation. Colocation of what with what?

Normally we want our VPS hosting our MT4 to be located as close as possible to the broker's server especially if we are scalping. Is that what you are asking?  Most VPS providers offer different locations so that you can match the location to where your broker's server is. So you just have to ask.

If you broker server stands in New York and you can choose between a VPS located in Siberia, Finnland or USA, New York.
What co location should you choose?

Recently I signed up for Reliable VPS Starter Package with 2 cores CPU, 8 GB RAM and 160 GB of SSD storage for USD 24.99 per month. The VPS comes with Windows Server 2019 (same as Windows 10). I was initially skeptical as the specs were very good for the price. However, I have now been running the VPS for about three weeks with no problem. I'm not an affiliate or promoting anything but do consider them when looking for VPS options.

I also use Beeks (CNS) with Black Bull Markets who is located in the same building in NYC, 1-2ms. IMHO you get what you pay for. Especially when dealing with network latency.

Their website is at https://reliablevps.us.
I'm still subscribed to their service and haven't experienced any problem.
Unlike other VPS providers, there is no auto restart support in case MT4 crashes. But that's easily fixed as not only does Windows Server 2019 has inbuilt support for this but there are also free apps that will do the job. For example I'm using RestartOnCrash (https://w-shadow.com/blog/2009/03/04/restart-on-crash/) which is free, portable and doesn't hog system resources.

Thanks for the URL of the vps provider and for the monitoring app.

I am using w2cloud but they are closing down their VPS services.

I switch away from w2cloud for some years now. While they are good but support respond can take days.

I recommend ovhcloud which is quite reasonable in price and so far has no issue since i signup in December last year.
