Forex Adventures
« on: July 21, 2021, 12:34:02 AM »
This trading journal thread is all about my Forex adventures,

Not my past adventures but my current and future adventures.

Tuesday July 20, 2021, I set up a brokerage account with Blackbull Markets in New Zealand. As a Canadian, New Zealand is pretty much the last safe (read regulated but not too tight like NFA in the US  [and Canadian brokers have followed along with NFA] or FCA in the UK, ASIC in Australia or ESMA in Europe) area unless I want to go with offshore, which I don't.

That brokerage account has been setup with two MT4 accounts. Live account one (1) has been loaded with 80% of my capital and Live two (2) contains the other 20%.

To start with, Live 1 will be trading using the PZ Day Trading EA. I plan to eventually trade EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY on this account but I am introducing the pairs slowly to make sure nothing untoward takes place.

Fri Aug 15, 2021: I had enough of PZ Daily Trading EA scalping with small wins and large losses. Since July 20, the EA has made a tiny $370.19 CAD along with wide fluctuations from plus $5K to minus $1K.

I placed another subscription on account Live1 to My Forex Signal from SignalStart on this account at 3x.

Live 2 is trading My Forex Signal from SignalStart (https://www.signalstart.com/analysis/my-signal-forex/197313).

Wed Aug 18, 2021: I removed the My Forex Signal from my Live2 account and added a subscription to EverGreenFx Forex Signals (https://www.signalstart.com/analysis/evergreenfx/208468) at 1x.

I have also connected both accounts to both major publishers FXBlue and MyFXBook. FXBlue shows some account information in the transaction list so I have put a pin number on it's web pages.

The MyFXBook URL's are:
1. https://www.myfxbook.com/members/rsmereka/live1au/8693007
2. https://www.myfxbook.com/members/rsmereka/live2au/8693043

My watchlist is available for everyone to read. It is a plain text file. I try to keep it updated each trading day. Get it from http://alpine.future-lab.com/tmp/watchlist.txt

This post will be updated with the most accurate information upon any change.

Stay tuned for more adventures.

Sorry guys,

Even if it was not, I am not a fan of rebates.

Thanks for sharing. I will be following your adventures.

I assume that if any on your watchlist becomes compelling you will either reallocate capital or assign new capital, from your profits.

Absolutely,

I just added the second pair (EURUSD) to Live 1. Overnight, I got 0.6 pips on a USDJPY trade on live 1. My Forex Signal was the star with 2 EURUSD trades on Live 2 for a total return of 0.157%, 31.3 pips. There is another EURUSD trade in progress on Live 2.

I just added the third currency pair, GBPUSD to my Live 1 account,

Today, so far on my Live 1 account, EURUSD has had four winners and made up some for yesterdays loss. The account is still at bit in the red (0.17%).

My Live 2 account also had four EURUSD winners although I am concerned about one of the two open trades (also EURUSD buy) that currently is some 57 pips in the hole.

I would not be too worried about that My Signal trade in the red for a bit. It's the way he trades. Just look at the sequence back in June for instance as per image.

Of course if one of his large recovery trade (4 or 5 lots) got out of hand..... But that has not happened since he started in 2018. He always starts a sequence with small contract.

No worries here. I just checked my ddmon EA right on the account and the current floating DD is 0.55% and there are three open trades all at the same lot size. I'll keep an eye out for the recovery trade nevertheless.

July Performance:

I closed my first trade on Wednesday Jul 21.

Live1 account had 26 trades, 22 wins, 4 loss, 85% win rate, profit factor 1.87, 70.6 pips, avg pips per trade 2.0, return 1.1% in 8 trading days

CP breakbown:
EURUSD 13 trades, 11 wins, 2 loss, 85% win rate, profit factor 1.22, 28.7 pips, avg pips per trade 1.8

GBPUSD 7 trades, 6 wins, 1 loss, 86% win rate, profit factor 1.03, 8.8 pips, avg pips per trade 1.3

USDJPY 6 trades 5 wins, 1 loss, 83% win rate, profit factor 129,941.00 19.9 pips, avg pips per trade 3.3

Live2 account had 15 trades, all wins, 329.5 pips, avg pips per trade 22, return 1.8% in 8 trading days

It appears as though account Live1 is trading like a mostly like a scalper and my account overhead is too high for this type of trading. I am considering a change on this account but I would like to give the EA a proper opportunity.

I am very pleased with Live2 account performance. It seems as though this signal should be on the (much larger) Live1 account but I need to build confidence for that.

I was not happy with what PZ Day Trading EA did with my larger Live 1 account from Jul 20 to today. There were some large fluctuations in balance only to be taken out by large losses which is typical scalper behavior.

I removed PZ Day Trading EA from my Live 1 account.

During the same time, I have become a huge fan of My Forex Signal from SignalStart so I replaced PZ Day Trading EA with another subscription to My Forex Signal from SignalStart. I set the risk multiplier to 3x. I have been monitoring the floating DD (using my ddmon EA) on the Live 2 account with the same signal subscription at 2x risk and the largest DD was just over 5% between Jul 20 to today.

I am hoping that this change will be part of a larger plan where the Live 1 account will run the signal My Forex Signal and my Live 2 account will run EverGreenFx Forex Signals. This second part is scheduled for August 18 when my existing subscription on the Live 2 account expires.

Wow, 3x risk; that should result in some exciting times every now and then.

If you look back to last year, there are times when he trades large lot sizes (as per image), and several of them can be open at the same time as he seeks to close out a position in profit.

So there could be anything up to 10 lots open at once; on a $15K account at 1x risk. So if you trade at 3x risk on a $150K account, you would have 300 lots of open trades! Exciting - $3K per pip movements.  These are the situations when most of the money is made as you can see when you look at the equity curve from around March to August 2020. You will need very high leverage (500:1) to avoid a margin call with such level of open positions I suspect; master account trades at 100:1 so that provides a bit of leeway. And/or maybe trade on a somewhat smaller account and have $20 to $30K sitting in a dormant account ready to add if needed. Just my thoughts from someone who lost $30K overnight once because he got too greedy trading at too high a risk.

It is just an experiment for me,

On paper, it should work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have my Live 2 account ready to pitch in if necessary.

Stay tuned.

As mentioned in post #10 of this thread, yesterday (Wed Aug 18, 2021), I removed the My Signal Forex subscription from my Live2 account and added a EverGreenFx Forex Signals (https://www.signalstart.com/analysis/evergreenfx/208468) subscription at 1x risk.

This was made possible by the close, nicely in profit, of the My Signal Forex basket. I was getting ready to delay removal of the subscription (which would have cost me another month fees) when the basket closed. Before I time to react, the first trade of a new basket opened. I manually closed this and took the small loss.

I am telling you right now that you need a very strong stomach to trade EverGreenFx. This current basket has already hit 53.6% floating DD in a basket of 19 trades.

I also added the new ORDequity For GENERAL ECN Forex Signals (https://ordequity.signalstart.com/analysis/ordequity-for-general-ecn/218334) to my watchlist and, since we cannot possibly subscribe to the other two ORDequity signals, I have removed these from my watchlist.

hi rs,

nice to see you are sharing your journey.

i would not have dropped my signal, he seems to be a damm good manual trader. yes he trades news occasionally = after the release but thats what i do as well and is a very valid method.

with evergreen you know the inevitable outcome, it has happened so many times before.

sure hope you run that one very very small risk.

i looked at some of the signals offered = signalstart, and most are traded on very strange never heard before brokers which is kinda strange. evergreen is at least with a good broker. but be very very carefull with that one.

all the best and green pips to ya :)
