Looks ok but there is definitely some hold and pray trading in there.  Sort the trades in MyFXB by duration and you'll see he sometimes holds onto trades for 2 to 4 weeks.  If you are OK with that then he seems OK.  If you like to see traders cutting losses and moving on to more profitable trades I would say this isn't your guy.

Hello Everyone, I'm one of the traders for this service and this thread was pointed out to me.

@Ultracat Please look at our positions more closely.. First notice our floating equity is higher than our balance a lot. This means we hold on to winning positions. Also please look at our lengthy holdings , notice what time date and price we entered and you will see our positions that were hold for a long time are not in DD.

Please sort dates by open date in myfxbook. Look at all our big positions. you will see there is a matching position for each one that is taken profit at the distance of our stops.

for example. look at eurjpy on 11.07.2013 19:48 .  2 trades opened. 1 trade took profit for 76 pips the next day. Stop for the other trade is around 76 pips. So that trade set is now reduced risk.  14 days later the other trade took profit for 567.8 pips . It was a free trade that had no risk 1 day after entry. This is how we trade all our trades. There is no holding and praying. We have defined targets and stops and a strategy for reducing risk for every setup. It does takes patience to trade with us because we are very patient with our targets and setups. We are not perfect, but our best edge is reducing risk which is not something you see in most trading plans.

I contacted these guys via Email, If i had $ I would join. Certainly impressive gains (70%) with easy on the eyes 5% DD. THey dont hold on to losing trades hoping they turn around. I believe their strategy is double positions with one accompanying the other

Did you actually go into detail on their myfxbook? Because just after 5 min , I was able to spot 3 EUR/USD Short trades ( a grid shown in the picture) that in fact went into 129 pips each into a floating draw down before then bounced and show only a 53 pip lose on myfxbook,

In fact if you look really close you will see that there is no stop loses shown, so where was the stop if the trade had not bounced? It may appear on myfxbook the Worse Trade is only 103 pips, but that is a problem with myfxbook , which you can clearly see these went well beyond the Worse Trade of 103 and into 129 pips each.

See the post picture very easy to see, did not check any more after these.

Steve nice analytic catch, maybe Ambush can tell us more about this?

Note though it is a Demo account - I dont take note of Demo accounts and rarely if not never look at them, I was basing my understnding on the Real Myfxbook account

ambush already explained it, see above.

their dd to gain was good on the demo, and it sure is even much better on their live account so far.

when do you see an equity curve above the balance, its a rare sight.

Questions for the vendor:
1) are you Daniel Hussey Jr that posted here: http://video.twicsy.com/i/fNppg
2) u appear to be algodaytrader also. Is this correct? If it is, can u explain why these tests showed the poor results they did? are they different systems?http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/forex_signals_performance/algo_day_trader_dtrader/real and http://forexverified.com/reports/algodaytrader/algodaytrader001.html
3) your good myfxbook results appear oddly skewed to have occured really 2 times : sept 17-19 and nov 21-22. with these outliers removed your results are not very good at all, so can you speak to that and explain why, as a potnetial sub, we should have confidence in your achieving these outlier results in the future?

Thanks!

1.) This's Peter , we post the free videos Dan does for EWF on our blog http://ambushtrader.com/?page_id=3699 . I have not done any videos recently but if you look in the blog history you can find videos from me back in march. I'm hoping to have to do some in the future.

2. Algodaytrader is our old education service. It was recently absorbed by http://elliottwave-forecast.com/ . Dan continues the manual trade alerts and live trading webinar we did at algo with EWF. The 2 test shown are from an automated system we had called dtrader.  It was a robot and performed poorly. To clarify at algodaytrader we offered live webinar, trade alerts and 2 copy services , dtrader(automated) and ambushtrader( our manual strategy). Dtrader is closed now, all existing dtrader clients have been getting the ambush trader signals . When algo got absorbed by EWF it was only the webinar part of the business and we have made ambush a separate business because Dan and i trading together has produced amazing results.

3. If you remove our big gains, i see a sideways chart of floating gains(equity up) an evidence of being able to protect an account in non trending markets( no DD ) before taking full advantage of trends. There is more value in that in the long run than fast gains. Im not on here to convince someone to buy our service, just answer questions, but from what you are telling me , if this is what you see when looking at our performance then i don't think you are a good fit for our service as you are probably looking for someone who can go in and out of the market faster and make daily gains for you at a monthly cost. When you find that service please let me know too :) .

Confidence is earned, our customers are people that have been trading with us for over a year now via webinar etc.  I can't tell anyone here why they should have confidence in us or anyone running a service that they don't know. In some eyes we are as good as our last trade and in others we as good as we have been in the last 6 months. Every eye is different and this is the big difference that makes up the forex market where you have serious investors with capital+patience and dreamers looking to make fast money without working. unfortunately the MT4 EA business attracts a lot of risk takers that are not aligned with us. This is the reason we are working on a pamm offering and will eventually move to managed accounts/pamm under watermark and performance fees rather than a monthly service.

Ody, I appreciate a vendor grilling as much as anyone, but I think your analysis here is not serious. The equity line is the one to watch as we all know and it is going up at least half the time and more importantly not going down. Check out the big balance jumps you noted on sept 18, and you'll see this is when some big trades of 19 and 12 days closed. The size of the account shows these guys are serious too.

Reiner is right - something like this with the equity continuously above the balance is in a very rare club.
