RE:  "normal" trading conditions, most strategies rely on a "pullback" and under "normal" circumstances, they do occur...with the euro meltdown we are having, there really hasn't been much of a pullback so traders have been waiting for it to now hit bottom.....that being said, there is still profit to be made once you adapt the strategy to the environment....but from what I've seen, alot of professional traders only have ONE strategy that they rely on...hence the apparent confusion and losses....

as far as we know the market may not be like it was for a long time. You can expect 1 year long DD period from an EA with a fixed strategy, but not from a human trader, let a alone what is supposed to be a true proffesional. I'd trade a signal, because humans can adapt. Jay has shown us he can't really do that.

I don't expect anything to change soon with the market conditions. Unless Greece defaults, in which case we are going to have very nice bullish trends on the USD ( and trend following strategies will thrive), we will be seeing these uncertanty conditions until the world exists the current EU crysys.
