I'm also interested but he is offering a 1 week trial.
Above all it is a very expensive service but if you are a scalper maybe is worthy.

I would recommend Ashraf Laidi's book for fairly advanced traders who wish to study inter market analysis and correlations. A must read along with John Murphy's inter market works.

Regarding his signal service the answer is to take the free trial and see if it suits you. He works a 24hr timeframe and trade copiers do not feature.

My own experience trialling his premium service was worthwile from an educational stand-point but I couldn't hack the timeframe he works. I think he must be an insomniac. I still frequent his free public forum from time to time to catch snippets of his analysis and the IMT's rather than the trade calls.

His paid premium service is modular. You can add the MNI FX Bullets news stream for a very reduced rate.

I had the service for 6 month and my conclusion is:

(1) Good for education and economic information
(2) The trade signals have not been a huge success. More or less I did break-even within this 6 months

I would have been successful if i would have traded his long term view...but long term trading in Fx needs big pockets...in between i would have had large drawdowns.

To put it simple: if you look for trade signals I cannot recomment this service. If you want to understand economic forex relations go for it.

Thanks for your reviews.  One thing  I dont get is that you say that the signals  make  minus on the accunt and that it was hard to follow around the 24h.  But You  also say  that it was good for education, in my world  his trading/ signals is a profe of his knowledge.  If he cant make good money / signals  why is the eductaion he teaches good and usefull ?

Best regards

The quick answer is Ashraf has many balls in the air. Aside from his own analysis service he makes frequent appearances on CNBC and the various news channels. He speaks several languages fluently including arabic which puts him in demand across the globe. He attends the major trade exhibitions in various countries representing both himself and the broker he happens to be working for at the time. Until recently he was chief currency strategic analyst for CMC, now working for City Index group. He has the memory of an elephant and only sleeps about 4 to 5 hrs per day. He can tell you what any currency did 10 yrs ago on any specific date from memory. He never ceases to amaze me. He has had top line analyst jobs at the world bank and other major institutions.

The quick answer therefor is that he is always trying to do too much running along on pure adrenalin.

As far as his signal service element is concerned it would benefit from an RT trading room where the trade calls could be managed but no way would he have the time to provide this. This is why I have recommended the C3X service which does have an RT room for full time traders 24/5. C3X have a similar approach to analysis combining technicals with inter market correlations and some fundamentals.

I am not a fan of signal services unless they are supported by the underlying analysis and ongoing trade management. Every trader should be working toward becoming totally independant.

David.

Actually AL always gives a longer term analysis which would have given me successful trades after a few months . His short term trades with SL/TP of about 60 pips did not work very well. It was more or less like tossing a coin.

As AL took over a new job it seems he cut back his personal engagament from february  and Adam buttons seems to handle lot of the tasks related to his service now.

After using the the service of Ashraf Laidi some time ago I stopped using it as premium trades have not convinced me. But actually I found out that AL is a great analysist and his longer term prognostics are incredible good. I started my subscription 2 months ago and now I do not just trade his premium trades blindly but combine them with his overall view of the currency markets. You should give it a try as I think there is nothing better available currently. If you do not want to spend the money for the premium service you can go to www.cityindex.co.uk where Ashraf Laidi posts his predictions for free (but no trade signals).

What I like about Ashraf is his read of the shorter term fundamentals. This can add meaning to the technicals so over time we can become much more proficient at combining short term fundamentals with technicals. I don't think the service is suitable for anyone expecting a money making machine by blindly following all his signals. You have to have a genuine interest and desire to "understand" why markets are doing what they are doing. You also have to be able to follow his near 24 hr timeframe for trading the smaller moves. By this I mean typically 80 to 140 pip scalps.

I broadly agree with your assessment oshun123. The answer I think is to trade according to our own technical system and trade management rules. Observe Ashraf's technical analysis to note how it converges or diverges with our own. Above all LEARN from Ashraf how to read the shorter term fundamentals. There is no better maestro out there for this facet imho.
