Trading in exotic pair

I'm thinking about trading in exotic pairs. Have anyone tried it and gained from it? Is it easier or harder that trading with common USD pairs?

I haven't tried it but I would imagine that it is a very specialist area. Exotic pairs can have fairly low liquidity which means that the price can be quite volatile. Another big problem is that the spread is likely to be HUGE so it is essential that you have a decent trading plan.

.. but if you are talking about EJ and GJ they should be fine as they are highly liquid and you can get low spreads

I dont recommend you go into the exotic pair trade because theyre much more complex than hard currency, for this same reason the majority of the more expert traders recommend not to operate with them under any circumstance and is the most recommended because to use them it is preferably necessary advanced studies on the currencies to understand how they work, is not something that any user can realize but at the same time generate very high profits, in fact the biggest that can be taken out in the market.

Which exotic pairs exactly? Their movement differs widely, if you want to trade a particular pair you need to research it well first.

Why dont you try it first on demo account. As all other forum members mentioned, it is very tricky to trade with exotics.Volatility is different and economic drivers also as they are specific for each and every exotic country and its currency. So,dont just jump into this market, try to test it first

I am ever trying to trade on USDTRY, because if the look on history the chart, sometimes this pair has high volatility market, but indeed spread is higher than major pair, and now I have abandoned this pair

Yes I trade swap arbitrage on USDRUB with Tickmill and Hotforex. It is profitable but risky opportunity, very difficult to manage position sizes.

How to trade swap arbitrage on exotic pairs? what is a difference between both brokers about a swap? I use FXOpen and if open trades overnight always charged swap and this reduces equity, sometimes I am ignored this matter, but if open too long time position it will many reduces equity

I think that trading exotics is brave decision. I support your decision to enter into this field. But, be careful to understand major exotics like TRY or RUB, as these currencies are heavy controlled by CB of these states. There is also a little bit of politics involved. Good luck with trading

I do admire people who actually can trade exotics and trade them well, it's quite a challenge.

I think that currently there are huge earning possibilities in exotics. Major currencies are currently trading with low volatility as there is a lot of political interference on markets. Exotics are not easy to trade but earnings can be huge

Exotic pair usually has higher spread, but sometimes movement spike occurred like as USDTRY sometimes very large movement and giving high potential profit, some trader trying to use swap trading to get profit with open sell on this pair when uptrend already overbought
