I agree. I've backtested robots that gave good results but when tested in real time the results weren't as good.
Can you please explain how to backtest robots properly on historical price? I mean what are the criteria (like statistical significance) we should use?

I think that in order to backtest a robot, you would need to know on what signals he is opening and closing position. Not all robot providers are open to give you this info. In this case you can use mini account to test robot and see if he can really make profits in a real time

Sometimes robot only work on a certain account, because author create a robot with a certain goal, as trader also need to know whether these robots can work in our account type and also broker, so if any trader want to purchase robot they need to make deep research, don`t foolish with amazing result but its only fake proof

I am rather skeptical about robots; I do not really believe in their productivity.

A valid concern but perhaps the issue is whether manual trading strategies result in any better productivity.

I had some experience with a robot, but nothing really worked out, so this does not suit me.

robots work for a while then fail, the markets are fluid so they change, robots dont, semi automated is the way forward.

True, but so do manual trading strategies. So we need to adapt as humans when we trade and we need to adapt/re-optimise our robots to new market conditions. Manual trading is trading to a set of rules/plan we set ourselves. Robots trade to a set of rules we or the developer sets. So there is really no difference.
If we get lazy and don't re-optimise our robots, or if we get lazy and don't adjust our manual trading strategy, we lose.

I tried to work with the robot a couple of times, but then it crashed and I threw it during it.

There is huge amount of EAs which can be found on market. Some are for free, while some come with cost. In any case, backtesting or real time testing is necessary but I would suggest for testing to take at least a month before you put it into real account
