If they can make MT5 compatible with MT4 code a lot of people will move toward MT5.

I am not certain that is possible. They would've done it by now, otherwise?
Yes you have a point here. MT4 is actually writen on MQL4 programming language where MT5 is written on MQL5 programming language, but it is not impossible to create a compiler which can generate a connection between two, and EA can be rewritten from MT4 for MT5.

That makes sense. But I am not a coder, so I generally don't have an opinion on things like this.

The most popular and commonly used retail Forex trading platform is Metatader 4 with hundreds of thousands of traders using it

Every platform is the best platform for trading when a trader have full knowledge about the market. Because without having any knowledge nothing will be possible. You must have to learn well before starting the trade on the forex market. Thanks

Exactly! But some platforms have a lot of bugs despite of small options and primitive design. That's why prevalent count of traders prefer MT 4 and MT5 platforms. It's really awesome! I use it in Amarkets broker about 6 month and till now everything ok)

For manual trading, I prefer cTrader. For EAs MT4, simply because most EAs are written for it, but also because it consumes far less computer resources.

I confess it has never occurred to me to try cTrader. Would you recommend it?

And now we have a broker-less trading platform - https://www.spectre.ai/ - based on blockchain technology.

Anyone tried it? Seems simple enough to use but the crypto/blockchain aspects worry me since I don't fully understand them.

Fascinating - I wonder how they'll manage with 2M liquidity...

For manual trading, I would. I find it more intuitive and the execution of orders seems to be faster, with less slippage. I found it much superior to MT4 (never tried MT5), and only use MT4 to run EAs that are not available for cTrader (which is most EAs). It does use significantly more resources, but if you are not trading EAs on a VPS that should not be much of an issue.

Il still trade with Hotforex MT4 no issues so far. Of course it'd be great if they introduce MT5 platform because I like pre installed economic calendar there it will save up a lot of time for traders who trade news.

Metatrader 4 seems quite stable to me in general, I don't know what the situation is with Metatrader 5. The good things I've heard were about its newer functionalities, rather than about the stability of the platform.

I just tryed Spectre broker-less... it's a very simple trading platform and I miss some features like set the stop loss and take profit in points, it's not possible yet. I would not use it by now...  :-\
