Cost of FCA regulation?
« on: March 29, 2015, 08:24:04 PM »
Hello everyone

Does anyone know the cost to regulate a forex broker with the FCA? And how much is the deposit requirement?

Surprisingly enough, I could not find sufficient information about this when I did a google research!

Are you planning to open a broker/ If yes, speak with Leverate. iIf it is just out of interest, I know with CySec you need to have one million euros in your account that you cannot touch, The costs of the procedure I do not know as you see you need to have a lot of money on the side.

CySec won't do.

I just need to know the amount of money that needs to be untouched so that one can obtain the FCA license for a forex broker.

Anyone has any ideas?

I have always regarded the FCA regulation as one of the top and strongest, but I just realized that I have no idea about the cost. However, I know for sure that for the NFA license, you need about $20 Mill deposit. Does that apply to the FCA as well ?

Faced with paying millions to start a brokerage and get it regulated, many owners would find it preferable to buy a small island and operate from there  :D

NFA is completely different so my guess is no. The NFA operates but different rules and they are much, much stricter in my opinion. I cannot help more than I already have but as I suggested, contact Leverate, I think they also help brokers get regulated and even if they don't their guys should know all the procedures and costs.

Have you tried to make inquiry to the FCA? They're a watchdog for all UK financial outfits and I believe fx brokerages cost most to obtain a license. Around $ 2-3 mln. I guess.

If you're planning on registering a broker with the FCA, according to UK regulation, you need to pay 730,000 EUR.

I'm afraid this information is not available online. Basically what you are asking for is a guideline of how to register financial company with FCA. It can be a trade secret and require knowledge and expertise of some specialist.

Just get a ready one, faster and cheaper and I have brokered selling one before. 500k pound is the market price.

Otherwise, it could take you years to get the license, and you will need to go through a lot of headache.

Cheers,
